Mária Gömöri

Mária Gömöri

I have lived in London since September 2008.

My home town is Budapest where I studied English and graduated as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language but I am a Primary School Teacher as well. Currently I am working as a Supply Teacher in primary schools in London and have a part time job as a Hungarian-English Interpreter.

I like the diversity of London, the way that people keep their mother tongue and think it might be a gift of life to be bilingual. As I see, children are able to pick both languages up quickly and easily, especially in the young ages.

I joined the Hungarian Children and Parents Group in February 2013 and I am very pleased to teach Hungarian language in Vuk class till at the end of the academic year, using the English teaching methods but keeping the Hungarian spirit and love of this unique language and culture.

John Palgrave Simpson (1807-1887) Victorian playwright wrote about the Hungarian language in his series of articles, “Letters from the Banks of the Danube”, on the exciting days of March 1848:

“The Hungarian language is very poetic, rich and spirited, . . . it is full of enthusiasm and strength and is suited to all kinds of poetical work. It is strong and yet gentle and very pleasing in sound. It is melodic and its expression is clear.”

Tímea Hegedűs

Tímea Hegedűs

I was born and brought up in Budapest. I went to the Pikéthy Music School in Vác, then to the Continuo Music School in Budapest, followed by the Music Studio of Kőbánya. Finally, I graduated as a piano teacher from the Liszt Academy in Budapest. I have got 12 years of teaching experience with children and adults, including 6 years in London.
In this Hungarian Saturday school I am in charge of the Túró Rudi Group (under 3s) and the music lessons for different age groups based on the Kodály method. We drink music from the purest spring, our beautiful folk traditions.
I will too add to the numbers of Túró Rudi class in the autumn of 2013 and Anita Hornai will stand in for me.

Anita Hornai

Anita Hornai

My life is dedicated to music which, in my view, is a universal language to express thoughts and feelings.
I am a qualified singing teacher and preforming artist. I love to pass on my knowledge, skills and passion for music for everyone, especially children.
I am living, teaching and performing in London since 2008. I am now teaching in the ‘All Talents Music School’ in Enfield and I am doing “Tiny Tempo’ music classes for toddlers.
I joined to the HC&PG when my daughter, Lily was only a few months old in 2012. It’s such a great place to keep in touch with my roots! Now I have the pleasure of covering the Turo Rudi and the Kodaly classes while Timi is on maternity leave.

My Diploma in teaching qualifies me to teach both in primary and secondary schools. However as a lifelong learner I gained in London a Diploma in Event Organising and a QTLS qualification. Blanka Molnár

Blanka Molnár

I graduated from the Budapest NNÁ HSZKI School in Acting and Drama Pedagogy in 2012. I have led two drama groups since 2009, one in Törökbálint and one in Miskolc, achieving “Commended” certificates with both at the Weöres Sándor Children Theatre competitions. I was working at Nyitott Kör TIE (theatre in education) company as an actress and teacher, and I was participating in summer camps first as a volunteer than as camp leader. I think theatre is very important in children’s education, because they can use this skill in every part of their lifes.
I have joined this Group in January 2013 as a teacher of their Szórakatéma drama class.
